Responsible gambling notes
This page summarises the responsible-gambling facts used beside the casino-hotel index. The site measures hotel, leisure, dining, entertainment, access and transparency parameters. It does not offer gambling, does not process casino activity and does not treat casino access as a booking reason.

What this site does and does not measure
The index compares physical casino hotels in Australia. Its scoring is about published hotel information: rooms, opening year, pools, spa, gym, restaurants, bars, theatre capacity, convention capacity, waterfront setting, airport distance, transport, parking, check-in, pets, accessibility, hours, loyalty and transparency. The full scoring structure is set out in the method and weights.
The casino component is recorded as a factual part of each property. A venue either publishes a parameter, or it does not. Where a value is not published, the index marks it as not published and scores the transparency effect. The 30-parameter table is the place to compare those entries across the ten houses.
Australia bans online casino play under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. This website is about physical buildings only. It does not offer casino games, does not take bets, does not provide odds, and does not link to online casino play. Booking requests through the desk concern hotel accommodation only.
Age and access
Casino entry is 18+ across Australian states and territories. Some venue pages publish that rule directly. For example, The Star Brisbane states that guests must be aged 18 years or over to enter the casino, Mindil Beach Casino Resort states that a person must be 18 years or over to enter the casino, and The Ville states that casino entry is restricted to people aged 18 years and over.
In some states, the fetched regulator or venue pages did not print the age in the pages used for the index. The index still applies the country rule from the FACTS file: minimum age for casino entry is 18 across all states and territories. Where the source is weaker, the state page records the confidence level rather than filling the gap with new wording. See the state-by-state regulator notes by state.
Some venues also publish dress, identification or membership conditions. Those conditions differ by venue and are recorded only where a source publishes them. They are not used as an invitation to enter gaming areas.
Support and self-exclusion
The national gambling help number used across the state notes is 1800 858 858. State labels differ: Victoria lists Gambler’s Help, New South Wales lists GambleAware, Western Australia lists Gambling Helpline, Queensland lists Gambling Helpline, Tasmania lists Gamblers Help, and the Northern Territory facts include Amity Community Services and G-line references. The number is recorded because it appears in the FACTS file from regulator or venue sources.
Self-exclusion is also recorded where a source publishes it. Victoria records a casino self-exclusion program operated by Crown Melbourne under the Casino Control Act 1991 (Vic), and the FACTS note that the VGCCC fined Crown Melbourne on 15 October 2024 for allowing 242 self-excluded people to gamble between October 2023 and May 2024. Crown Melbourne and Crown Perth also publish PlaySafe Centre contacts in the FACTS.
Queensland publishes patron-initiated self-exclusion with form 3A and form 3B, a five-year period, limits on revocation in the first 12 months except within a 24-hour cooling-off period, and remote exclusion through Gambling Help Queensland for up to 30 venues. The FACTS note that the page covers gaming venues and does not explicitly mention casinos.
Tasmania’s entry is lower-confidence because fetched Treasury pages returned 403; the FACTS record the Tasmanian Gambling Exclusion Scheme from search snippets. The Northern Territory entry records venue self-exclusion under the NT Casino Code of Practice for Gaming Harm Minimisation, with supporting notes from Lasseters and lower-confidence government snippet material.
State changes and closed venues
Responsible-gambling context can change when licences, monitors or venue status change. The index therefore records dated facts. Crown Melbourne’s March 2024 suitability finding and the October 2024 self-exclusion fine are recorded in the Victorian notes. Crown Perth’s suitability material is recorded under Western Australia. Crown Sydney’s April 2024 NICC suitability decision is recorded in the New South Wales notes.
Queensland has recent venue changes. The Star Brisbane began staged opening on 29 August 2024, after Treasury Brisbane casino closed at midnight on Sunday 25 August 2024. Treasury Brisbane is treated as closed and is not listed as an operating casino hotel in this index. Queensland notes also record Special Manager and External Adviser dates where published in the FACTS.
The index ranks hotels, not gambling products. Readers who want the accommodation comparison can start with the index, review scores by group, or open all ten profile pages. Each page keeps published values separate from not-published cells.
