Privacy notice

This notice explains how Casino Hotel Index Australia handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. The site is a comparison and booking-request desk for physical casino hotels. It does not provide online casino play, and it does not take card details.

What this notice covers

This notice applies to information collected through this website, including the hotel index, profile pages, comparison tables and the booking-request form. It covers information that can identify a person, or that can reasonably be linked to a person.

The editorial pages, including method and weights, the 30-parameter table and scores by group, can be read without sending a booking request. If a reader only browses the site, the information handled is mainly technical data generated by the browser and the website’s analytics tags.

If a reader uses the desk, the site collects the information needed to check a hotel request. That may include the chosen hotel or hotels, dates, headcount, room preference, budget guidance if supplied, accessibility notes if supplied, and the reader’s contact details. The form is designed to ask for booking-query information only. It is not designed to collect card details, gambling activity, identity documents or sensitive information that is not needed for a hotel request.

The site is independent of the casino hotels and regulators named in the index. Privacy handling is separate from the editorial scoring process described on the method page.

Query data and use

When a reader sends a request through the desk, the information is used to read the query, check availability or booking options with the relevant hotel or booking partner, and respond to the reader. The site may also use the query to manage follow-up, handle corrections and keep an internal record of what was asked and answered.

Query data is not used to promote gambling. The site compares hotel, leisure, dining, entertainment, access and transparency parameters for physical venues. It does not offer casino accounts, online casino products or gambling transactions. Australia bans online casino play under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001; this site does not provide a way to gamble online.

If a reader names one of all ten listed properties, the request may be routed only to the hotel or booking partner needed to answer that request. If the query is broad, the desk may ask the reader to narrow dates, headcount or property choice before sharing any details outside the site.

The site may use de-identified operational notes to improve the wording of the form or the coverage of common questions, but it does not publish personal booking requests as testimonials or social proof.

Analytics and Google Tag Manager

The website uses Google Tag Manager to manage tags on the site. Tags may collect technical and usage information such as pages viewed, referral source, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from network information, and interaction events such as form starts or outbound link clicks.

Google Tag Manager is a container that can load analytics or measurement tags. The purpose is to understand how readers use the site, which pages need clearer navigation, and whether the comparison pages are working as intended. For example, the site may measure visits to transparency pages or movement from a hotel profile to a request form.

Analytics information is not used to create casino gambling profiles. The site does not run online casino products and does not record gambling activity through the website. Where browser or device settings allow a reader to limit cookies, tracking or advertising identifiers, those settings may affect what analytics data is available.

Some technical information may be handled by service providers that operate tags, hosting, security or measurement tools. Those providers process data for website operation and reporting, not for selling the index ranking.

Storage, security and sharing

Personal information is stored in systems used to operate the website, receive requests and respond to readers. Access is limited to people or service providers who need it for the site, the desk or technical support. No online system can be guaranteed risk-free, but the site uses ordinary administrative and technical controls for a small publishing and request desk.

The site shares personal information only where needed to handle the reader’s request, comply with law, protect the website, or manage service providers. For a booking request, that means details may be shared with the relevant hotel or a booking partner. The site does not sell query data to unrelated advertisers.

If a reader asks about a specific property, sharing should be limited to that property or the partner needed to answer the request. If the reader has not chosen a property, the desk may first reply asking for more detail. The site does not send card details because it does not collect card details.

Bookings, rates, deposits, cancellation terms and identity checks are between the reader and the hotel or booking partner. The related commercial position is explained on how this site earns, and the booking-request process is described at query the desk.

Retention, access and correction

The site keeps personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to the query, handling follow-up, resolving disputes, maintaining business records and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods may differ between enquiry records, email records, analytics logs and server logs.

When information is no longer needed, the site will take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles and legal record-keeping requirements. De-identified editorial notes may be kept where they no longer identify a reader.

A reader may ask for access to personal information held about them, or ask for correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Requests should be sent to the editor email published by the site. The request should give enough information to identify the relevant query, such as the date of contact and the email address used.

The site may need to verify the requester before releasing or changing information. If access or correction is refused, the site will give a reason where required by the Australian Privacy Principles. General editorial corrections about hotel facts can be sent through the same editor contact, but those requests are handled separately from privacy access requests.

query the index

Dates, headcount and the parameters that matter to you. The desk checks rates and availability with the hotel or a booking partner and replies by email, usually within one working day. No payment details are taken.

The index is free to read and is funded by hotel referrals: if a reader opens a hotel's site from here and books, or asks the query desk to arrange a stay, the publisher receives a commission from the hotel or a booking partner. Scores are computed from published facts, never from commission.
