Published position in the index
The Star Brisbane is scored as a physical Queensland venue, not as an online casino product. Australia bans online casino play under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, and the state rule used across the site is casino entry at 18+. The property is compared with the other nine houses in the index, with the same five weighted groups shown on method and weights.
The profile’s main strength is current official publication for the new hotel, Sky Deck, event centre, parking and several dining venues. The largest gaps are hotel-wide facilities outside The Star Grand and transport or airport distance. The resort’s own pages do not publish an airport distance, and the source sheet records no pet policy, spa, general accessibility statement, room total for future hotels or detailed casino floor counts.
The official hotel link is open hotel site. Readers comparing Queensland properties can also check The Star Gold Coast, Reef Hotel Casino and The Ville.
Ownership and operating wording
The source sheet gives more than one relevant ownership and operating statement. The Star Brisbane footer names “The Star Entertainment Brisbane Operations Pty Ltd ABN 98 608 159 173 of 33 William Street, Brisbane QLD 4000”. The Queensland regulator wording says “The Star Brisbane, operated by Destination Brisbane Consortium Integrated Resort Operations Pty Ltd”.
The Star Entertainment Group’s own wording says it “operates The Star Brisbane at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane” and “entered a binding agreement in August 2025 to sell its 50% equity interest in the Destination Brisbane Consortium”. The ASX 1 April 2026 item says Stage 1 completed by disposing of its interest in DBC “to the Joint Venture Partners” — Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and Far East Consortium International Limited.
The same source states that The Star continues as casino operator under the DBC Casino Management Agreement for “a fixed annual fee of $18 million payable monthly” plus performance incentive fees from 1 April 2026, with a performance-based termination right for DBC on not less than 90 days’ notice. Stage 2, covering DGCC Gold Coast assets, Treasury Hotel and Car Park, is expected in 2H CY2026 and “by no later than 31 March 2027”.
Hotel, leisure and dining facts
The open hotel in the source sheet is The Star Grand Brisbane. It publishes “340 beautifully appointed rooms”, with the opening release stating “340 hotel rooms including four penthouses”. Published room types are City King Room, City Accessible Room, City Twin Room, River King Room and River Accessible Room. Suites are City Suite, River Suite, Skyline City Suite and Skyline Penthouse Suite. Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM, with express check-out on request.
Isoletto Pool Club is on Level 7 and is exclusive to Star Grand guests. The resort publishes “three breathtaking heated pools” overlooking the Brisbane River, plus sauna, steam room, indoor gymnasium and pool bar. The source sheet records no dedicated spa. The broader roster sheet describes “Three luxurious infinity-style pools and a new skyline events space”.
The dining list is published with named venues. It includes Sokyo, Aloria, Cucina Regina, Black Hide Steak & Seafood by Gambaro, Dark Shepherd, Azteca, LÚC LẮC, Pompette, Babblers, Fat Noodle and Food Quarter. Bars published in the source sheet are Cicada Blu, LiveWire, Sports Bar, Cherry, Lobby Bar and Sundowners. Where a cuisine is not published for a named venue, the table marks it as not published rather than assigning one.
Access, river setting and changes
The address is 33 William Street, Brisbane City, Queensland 4000. The site sits in the Queen’s Wharf precinct on the Brisbane River. The Neville Bonner Bridge connects South Bank to the Queen’s Wharf precinct and The Terrace on Level 4. The bridge opened with the first phase on 29 August 2024 and is named after the first Indigenous parliamentarian.
Published public transport information comes from the precinct site rather than the main hotel page. It lists Roma Street, Central and South Brisbane stations within walking distance, Brisbane’s Uptown bus hub a short walk, nearby bus stops including the free city loop, North Quay ferry stop or terminal a short walk, and Bicentennial Bikeway access with end-of-ride facilities. Airport distance and time are not published.
Parking is published as The Star Brisbane car park on William Street, with entrances from William Street, Queen’s Wharf Road and Margaret Street. It is open 24/7 subject to availability, has a 2.1m vehicle height limit, and is card only with a 0.8% surcharge. Rates are published by the venue but not copied here; the comparison records only that rates exist. Treasury Brisbane casino closed on 25 August 2024, and The Star Brisbane staged opening began on 29 August 2024.

Shortlist it when
Book if the stay is for a new Brisbane CBD hotel with published riverfront access, Level 7 pool facilities, named dining venues and event-centre information. The profile is strongest where current Star and Queen’s Wharf pages publish the detail.
Check another row when
Think twice if the decision needs a published airport distance, a hotel-wide spa, pet policy, full accessibility statement or casino floor counts. Those parameters are not published in the source sheet and are treated as gaps.
A new CBD riverfront profile with good hotel and dining publication, but access and transparency gaps.
